Neighbors

Here are some pictures of our friend Martha from when she was kind enough to take Tammy and my mom out berry picking.  You can see all of the salmonberries in the tundra all around her!  Martha is our closest friend in Kasigluk and we are very grateful that we have gotten to know her.

Below are some kids we got to hang out a lot with a lot when we moved in!  These 5 photos were taken within 10 days of our arrival in Kasigluk.  They were a huge help in the initial "cleaning before you put food on the shelves" process, and they taught us most of our first Yupik words.  They enjoy playing games like UNO, Sorry, frisbee, Spoons, Sequence, Jenga, PIT, and others with us.  This reminds us a lot of LA, and the quick and fun friendships we developed with the neighborhood kids, even though their first language and culture were so different from ours.
