Getting chilly!  This was taken on October 24th at about 11:15 AM.  Note the guy walking across the ice.  This was probably only the first or second day you could do that, and it was considered a late date for freeze-up. Then, just a few days later, the temp went up to about 40 degrees and stayed there a week!  All the ice went away, only to return (this time for good, we think) on 11/10.  It is now 11/13, and I saw people walking on it yesterday, though they were also boating in it yesterday, cutting their way through the ice as they went.  Crazy!
