Greetings! The baby is waking up as I type this so I need to run. Just wanted to mention that our Hawaii vacation was fantastic (thank you McLaveys!!)! We had a wonderful time. If you look at the site front page you'll see a family picture of us there. We got to do a helicopter ride, I was able to snorkel, we did a luau, and Tam & I even had a chance to go on a date just as a couple! This was almost a state of shock for me to be away from the baby like that. J
Claire first officially crawled in Hawaii. She had been sort of doing it for a while, but while we were there she was definitely scooting around on the bed after what she wanted. Now she specializes in going between our DVDs (loves to reorganize them!), our computer and its many wires which she longs to pull on, our games shelf (another organization project, apparently), and a box of envelopes she enjoys emptying and sampling. She has 2 good bottom teeth and perhaps more on the way soon, as she has been unusually fussy the last day or two.
Basketball is in full swing here, as I mentioned last time. That is always a blast. This year I've been taping a lot of the games, which is cool as I then am able to share them with the coaches and kids, who save them on their school computers. I could go on and on about bball (just ask poor Tammy), but I won't bore you all here. Valentine's Day was fun, our school always really celebrates it. Tammy and I enjoyed a nice, quiet dinner and exchanged gifts. Claire wore her heart pants as you probably saw in the picture on our (Pete & Tammy's) front page. She continues to be a cutie and everyone loves watching her grow up.
She is more aware of things these days, like where mama is, or if we take something away from her she wants! She is a joy to love and serve.
I added a few new links and content. I especially recommend this one, which tells you all about our neighboring village of Nunapitchuk. If you click on the links about the "Akulmiut", you'll learn a lot of interesting stuff that applies to Kasigluk as much as Nunap. Really well-researched and fascinating stuff. Also the article about Anna Tobeluk and how the bush villages got their own secondary schools is good stuff, providing valuable historical perspective.
Oh, and I almost forgot this neat photo. You know you live in a cold and windy place when your icicles look like this:
Gotta go, baby is AWAKE. Quyana for reading our latest news!
